Ease pain and discomfort
THE NATURAL WAY

Orthopractics - Greek “orthos” – right, straight or correct - offers an alternative to manipulation. Its body-work techniques provide a medically-acceptable stand-alone therapy, or will give additional support to western or complementary health-care.

Many people endure unnecessary pain and discomfort at some stage of their lives. This can now be signifcantly changed with a powerful new system of pain management that combines ancient bodywork techniques with muscle re-alignment that beneficially affects muscles, bones and joints. The Orthopractic system of physical therapy can bring about fast and effective results.

Orthopractics can make a profound difference to health and well being. Its benefits extend into many aspects of daily life and can be appreciated by everyone who enjoys the feeling of a relaxed body and state of mind. Orthopractics works wonders on a physical level and can help in the healing of chronic and acute sports injuries, health complaints and accidents, where conventional means may not. RSI, pinched nerves, sciatica, muscular spasms, aches and pain, stiffness, headaches, migraines, arthritis pain and functional scoliosis are some of the conditions that can be dramatically improved.

What is Orthopractics?
Orthopractics from the Greek "orthos" – right, straight or correct - offers an alternative to manipulation. An orthopractor is a "body corrector". Orthopractics is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy, which is highly effective in working with chronic stress, injuries, pains or problems associated with postural and structural imbalances.

The practitioner uses gentle movement and positioning of the body to facilitate the change of stress and pain patterns. A strong focus is placed on the comfort of the individual; no forceful adjustments are used. A client may also wish to use home exercises that can further facilitate the neuromuscular re-education process begun in the session.

Orthopractics is very effective in alleviating both acute and chronic pain, muscle tension and joint disorders. It increases flexibility, induces relaxation, and improves circulation and vitality to the entire body.

The techniques effectively treat stress and tension, pain and other disturbances associated with poor posture and structural imbalances of the body.

How does Orthopractics work?
Orthopractics is a complete system of musculo-skeletal therapy. It stimulates the body's self-corrective and self-balancing reflexes located in our joints and muscles. The practitioner uses simple movements and gentle compression to find positions of comfort, which allow the body to change the stress and pain patterns which cause the discomfort. With the addiiton of trigger points and safe and proven mobilizing techniques, Orthopractics stimulates inner awareness to awaken a sense of natural balance and well being, both physically and emotionally. Self-healing is aided as the person remembers and re-educates the body's natural ability to move away from pain and toward ease.

What can it treat?
Orthopractics treats muscular aches and pains, back and neck problems, rotated pelvises and hips, sciatica, frozen shoulders, sporting injuries, headaches and migraines, stiffness, soreness, swelling, sprains, concussion injuries and much more. Combined with orthopractic foot-joint mobilization, it is also very successful in treating conditions previously considered extremely difficult to correct - bunions, flat feet, twisted ankles, abnormally pronated heels and ankles, corns, calluses and spurs – by addressing the structural causes of these foot conditions.
